...Okee Dokee ... the comment link works great! :-)

I don't know how it started that Americans began to stockpile stuff. Maybe it was as a result of the depression when folks didn't have enough of anything ... afterward, when things became available again, people stockpiled so that if it ever happened again, they wouldn't be caught short. Like so many things, it became a way of life. When I visited Venezuela for the first time, I was very aware of the difference in shopping habits. People simply didn't stockpile but rather walked to the market every day for what they needed. The whole concept seemed to simple ... and logical. It's funny how one doesn't "see" the possibilities until they literally see them. :-) It also makes me realize that many of the things we do in life are predicated by fear. In a way, that fear is what causes so many environmental problems ... fear of not having enough money, enough stuff, etc. Maybe if we didn't operate under fear, we could relax enough to let the environment be.

An "Eco-Crap" blog by any other name is still brilliant! :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18323775808390175925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6956738455898108504.post-31092943433849339222011-08-08T08:41:11.657-03:002011-08-08T08:41:11.657-03:00@Rae, I know there is not a lot one can say, it...@Rae, I know there is not a lot one can say, it's like a funeral when you are dumbstruck.
